Read The Numbers

VLT, IR and TSER — what actually matters.

Three numbers get quoted constantly and only one of them predicts how the car will feel in August.

VLT

Visible Light Transmission

The percentage of visible light the film lets through. Lower is darker. 5% is limo dark, 70% is nearly clear. VLT is about looks and legality — it is not a heat measurement, which is why a 70% ceramic can out-cool a 20% dyed film.

IR

Infrared Rejection

How much infrared the film blocks. It is the number the industry loves to advertise, because it is usually measured at a single peak wavelength where films perform best. Useful for comparing films of the same type — misleading across types.

TSER

Total Solar Energy Rejected

The honest one. TSER measures the whole solar spectrum — infrared, visible and ultraviolet — weighted the way the sun actually delivers it. If you only look at one figure, look at this one.

UV

Ultraviolet Rejection

Every film we sell blocks 99% or more. This is what protects your skin on long drives and stops the dashboard, seats and door cards from fading and cracking.

Before You Choose

South Carolina tint law, plainly.

Pick a legal shade first, then pick a series. Going darker than the law allows is the one mistake we cannot warranty away.

WindowSouth Carolina limit
WindshieldNon-reflective tint above the AS-1 line only
Front side windowsMust let in more than 27% light
Back side windowsMust let in more than 27% light
Rear windowMust let in more than 27% light
ReflectivityNo more than 20% reflective, front and back sides
Medical exemptionAvailable with documentation

In practice that makes 35% the darkest comfortably-legal choice for side glass in South Carolina, and 50% or 70% the safe pick if you are ever crossing state lines. Laws change and vary by state and vehicle class — confirm current requirements with the SCDMV or your installer before ordering. This table is a summary, not legal advice.
